We join Camperdown and Portland in celebrating History Week along the Great Ocean Road on the official History Week 2017 calendar of the Royal Historical Society Victoria.
The Royal Historical Society Victoria (RHSV) initiated History Week to showcase the rich, diverse history produced across Victoria. During History Week, RHSV members including many community groups, organisations and libraries celebrate history and highlight its important role in our cultural life.
Our theme for History Week 2017 is ‘Neighbours: Past and Present’. It includes stories of individuals, families and our community. Neighbours have shaped imagination and memories, created identities and been a source of both conflict and friendship.
This year we have teamed up with Facebook’s Humans of Torquay to produce an exhibition which shares these stories from the early days until now.
